Authors Contracts
Subject to the above conditions in this document, authors are expected to contract with bookstreet in the first case for the electronic rights of their works to be published in whatever form upon the internet, normally these actions will be for profit, though with or by the author's volition bookstreet may publish works for other purposes as it sees fit. Profits are split fifty percent and fifty percent (50/50) between the author and bookstreet. An initial payment must be made by the author of a work of fiction of £150 per book accepted, this to cover the overall mounting of electronic works. In the case of manuscripts and hard-copy, costs of re-editing and copying may be greater. This will be agreed at the time between the author concerned and bookstreet, in writing, normally by email. Further rights may be contracted (hard copy, merchandising) and may be included in the initial contract. Contracts between bookstreet and the author are normally for five years. bookstreet may also act as agents and authors representatives. It should be clearly recognized here, that bookstreet seeks to make a profit from every work mounted on the bookstreet.net website.
Emails of most fictional works are charged at £1 per unit. CDs at £5 per unit, other files at £2 per unit. Authors recieve 50% of all profits from their works after tax if relevant.
Authors will be paid monthly: normally by electronic bank transfer into a nominated account. Most communications will be made using email.
